Coming home is always a transition, but this time felt different. After our recent trip to the Netherlands, we arrived back feeling quite worn out. The journey had been tough, and we felt like we were running on empty.
But then, we stepped out onto our land in Moya, and we realized we had returned just in time to see the world wake up.
A Walk Through Our Orchard
This afternoon, we decided to head downhill, deep into the lower parts of our estate. We are so lucky to have this large stretch of land filled with fruit trees, and right now, it is a sight to behold.
While the North of Europe is still shaking off the winter chill, here near Fontanales, spring hasn’t just arrived—it has completely taken over. The contrast is striking. Everywhere we look, we see new life. Tiny buds are finally bursting open, and our trees are covered in a soft, fragrant blanket of blossom.
Finding Our Balance
We decided to stop for a while and just soak it all in. Sitting there among the trees, listening to the low, steady hum of the bees busy at work, felt like the ultimate therapy. Watching the dogs play and weave through the tall grass and flowers reminded us to just enjoy the moment.
Sometimes, you have to go away to truly appreciate the magic of your own backyard. The trip was hard, but walking through our blooming orchard reminds us why we chose this life. The batteries are finally recharging. Spring is here, and so are we.
